Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Technologist
Location: Silverdale, Washington
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
An experienced Cath Lab Technologist is needed for a travel contract at a busy, multimodality cath lab in a newly opened facility. The lab performs a high volume of cases including left and right heart caths, complex PCI, electrophysiology, structural heart procedures (TAVR, Watchman), interventional radiology, and peripheral vascular cases.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Cath Lab Technologist
- Active ARRT or RCIS certification for Cath Lab Tech
- Washington State Department of Health CVIS or RT license
- ACLS and BLS certifications
- Radiation badge required prior to assignment (not provided by facility)
Work Environment & Schedule
- Average 25-30 cases per day
- 6 suites/labs available
- Staffed daily with 14 techs and 7 RNs
- Call requirement: approximately 1-2 call days per week and 1 weekend per month with 30-minute response time
- Weekend on-call rotation: every third weekend or less
- Holidays: on call only, otherwise off
- Shifts: 10 or 12 hours, typically 4/10s schedule (6:30 AM - 5:00 PM)
- Scrubs provided by hospital
- Floating only in emergency situations
- Floor-specific orientation less than 1 week if competent
Equipment & Technology
- EMR: EPIC
- Equipment: MACLAB, PYXIS, GE Imaging, CARTO, Abbott EP
- Central monitoring in pre/post-op, local monitoring during procedures
Additional Information
- Critical care patients ventilated only during procedures
- 24/7 cardiologist on call
- 24/7 respiratory therapy and pharmacy support with code support available
- IV starts performed by pre-op nurses and cath lab staff; SWAT IV team available but not needed on unit
- Facility is expanding services, creating traveler need (not due to staff resignations)
- Manager open to considering dual-role RN candidates with RCIS certification who do not hold a Washington Radiology license
