Shift: Day/Night Rotate, 12 hours
Hours per week: 36
Department: LDRP

Required Qualifications

RN license
BLS
ACLS
NRP
2 years of experience
Must be able to titrate drips

Unit Details

4 L&D beds
7 postpartum beds
Typical patients include >35 weeks in labor and Mom/Baby couplets
Charge nurse is on each shift and takes an assignment
Neonatal vent, CPAP, BiPap, and high flow are used on the unit

Schedule

Block scheduling
Every third weekend
Holidays as needed

Floating

May float to MSP/ED for helping hands, mostly sitting 1:1 with patients

Orientation

3 unit-specific 12-hour shifts

Rural hospital with limited services
Distance from NICU is more than 1 hour
Helpful traits include teamwork, provider consistency, knowledge, independence, and good communication
Surgery handles the C-section; staff circulate for the baby only
