CVOR Tech

Location: Prescott, Arizona
Unit: CVOR Tech
Contract length: 13 weeks
Shift: Days, Monday to Friday, 0600-1430
Hours per week: 40
Facility details: 6 ORs (1 CVOR), 1 Hybrid room
Volume: 20-30 cases per day (1-2 CV or up to 4 TAVR)
Common cases: CABG, aortic valve, mitral valve, TAVR

Required Qualifications

CVOR Technologist experience (1 year minimum, within the last year)
BLS certification
Surgical Technologist experience

Support and Schedule

Scrub techs are available for OR techs.
A charge nurse and specialty leads are available as resources.
A house supervisor is in house from 6 PM to 7 AM only.
The hospital provides scrubs.

On Call

On call up to 50% of the time, from end of shift to next morning, with a 30-minute response time.
On call up to 50% of weekends.

Pros

This place impressed me. The staff, charge nurses and resources are amazing here. Pysix, Cerner and Alaris pump with great range of supplies. The Dr's are helpful and great to work with . The acuity isn't level 1 stuff but good range of patients. Sepsis, DKAs, ODs, HF, etc.

Cons

Cost of living seemed high although I had an arrangement with Bestwestern in the area for fixed monthly rate.
