Job Opportunity: Interventional Technologist I
Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Employment Type: Clinical Technician (Entry-Level)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
This entry-level position works under immediate to general supervision and direction of a mentor/preceptor to develop competencies in delivering specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology services. The role supports medical staff in diagnosing, caring for, treating, and monitoring simple to complex conditions in adult and/or pediatric patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide safe, high-quality, efficient, and patient-centered care under routine or emergent conditions across various care settings (inpatient, outpatient, diagnostic centers, outreach clinics).
- Prepare patients for procedures and correlate clinical history with physician orders.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and multidisciplinary care teams to achieve clinical and operational goals.
- Operate specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic equipment to perform diagnostic, interventional, and surgical procedures within scope of practice guidelines.
- Conduct post-procedure reviews to ensure documentation and technical quality meet department protocols and accreditation standards.
- Transfer images and data to archival systems and prepare studies for physician reporting.
- Perform operator-level quality control, cleaning, and high-level disinfection per manufacturer and regulatory guidelines.
- Participate in continuing education, professional development, and research activities to maintain competencies and improve care.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Experience
- Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in Oklahoma
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist, with experience within the last year
- Certification in one of the following: ARDMS, CCI, or ARRT - Vascular Interventional Radiography, ARRT - Cardiac Interventional Radiography, or ARRT - Radiography
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Required Certifications & Licensure
Candidates must hold one of the following certifications:
- ARDMS Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS)
- ARDMS Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT)
- ARRT Vascular Interventional Radiography
- ARRT Cardiac Interventional Radiography
- ARRT Radiography
- CCI Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS)
- CCI Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS)
- CCI Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS)
- CCI Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS)
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
