Job Opportunity: RN - Labor & Delivery

Job Description

As an RN in Labor & Delivery, you will independently coordinate and provide nursing care to acutely ill patients under the supervision of nursing leadership. Your responsibilities include assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of safe, therapeutic care in accordance with professional nursing standards and state regulations. You will collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans, prioritize nursing actions, and respond effectively to rapidly changing patient conditions.

Key duties include:

Performing comprehensive patient assessments and documenting findings
Establishing nursing diagnoses and formulating care plans
Implementing medical and nursing orders safely
Managing emergency situations promptly and appropriately
Adhering to infection control, medication administration, and safety protocols
Participating in professional development, staff meetings, and governance activities
Maintaining compliance with nursing scope of practice and ethical standards

Required Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of nursing experience
Valid and unrestricted California Registered Nurse (RN) license
Knowledge and experience with Cerner EMR system
Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
AWHONN Advanced Fetal Heart Monitor (FHM) certification
AWHONN Maternal Fetal Triage Index (MFTI) certification
Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
Knowledge of advanced nursing theory, medical terminology, instruments, equipment, and medication effects
Ability to maintain all health requirements and any additional competency certificates as required by assignment

Additional Information

Must adhere to the ANA Code of Ethics, ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, and state nursing regulations
Demonstrate clinical knowledge and skills specific to Labor & Delivery patient populations
Commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care and effective teamwork
