Job Summary
The Registered Radiologic Technologist utilizes imaging, computer, and other equipment to produce and retain high-quality diagnostic images that meet or exceed department and industry standards. This role requires thorough knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and image quality. Responsibilities include preparing patients for procedures, educating and responding to patient questions or concerns, and ensuring age-appropriate communication and safety. The technologist must demonstrate expertise in patient positioning, imaging techniques, radiation safety, infection control, and quality control. Additionally, this position involves overseeing and training students providing patient care and services.
Job Responsibilities
- Produce and retain high-quality diagnostic images using imaging and computer equipment.
- Apply professional knowledge to prepare patients and provide education.
- Ensure age-appropriate communication, safety, and patient education.
- Demonstrate understanding of patient positioning, imaging techniques, radiation safety, infection control, and quality control.
- Oversee and train students in patient care and treatment.
- Apply radiation safety techniques to minimize exposure to patients and staff.
Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Required Qualifications
- Valid Radiology Technologist license in Kentucky
- Radiology Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of experience in general radiology, including experience within the last year
- ARRT® certification
- BLS certification
