Location
- Johnson City, New York
Job Type
- Clinical nursing
- 13-week contract
- Evening shift
- 36 hours per week
Schedule
- 4 ten-hour shifts Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM
- May be asked to staff general OR if cardiac volume is low
- Call may be required: 2 to 3 shifts per week, usually 2:30 PM to 6:00 AM
- Every other weekend call coverage
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in New York
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- OR - Operating Room (6 months of experience)
- OR - Operating Room experience within the last year
- BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Experience with Epic
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
- Previous clinical nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting
- CCRN
- Relevant skills certification such as ACLS, PALS, or TNCC, as required by the home unit assigned
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, delegate, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care for a group of patients
- Educate patients and families in health promotion and disease management
- Administer medications safely
- Support staffing, time management, supplies, and service utilization
- Participate in shared governance, improvement initiatives, and peer review
- Engage in professional development and mandatory education
- Integrate nursing research and current evidence into practice
- Support new employees and students
- Perform Charge Nurse or Shift Coordinator duties when assigned
- Perform other assigned duties
