Job Opportunity: Rad Tech - Rad CATR CT

Location: Danville, Illinois

Job Description

  • Perform radiographic procedures including acquiring and processing patient exams according to guidelines and department protocols.
  • Review cases with radiologists as appropriate.
  • Review labs and patient history to ensure correct exam performance.
  • Administer IV, oral, and rectal contrast when appropriate, including performing veni-puncture if needed.
  • Screen patients for pregnancy and perform pregnancy testing if applicable.
  • Review radiology orders for completeness and accuracy; verify medical necessity using patient history and clinical data.
  • Critique imaging quality standards including positioning, technical factors, and alignment.
  • Transfer and verify image data in PACS; provide necessary medical history for radiologist interpretation.
  • Utilize RIS for scheduling, billing, and coding procedures.
  • Maintain imaging equipment and workplace environment, including supply inventories and reporting malfunctions promptly.
  • Ensure patient, visitor, and environmental safety; report safety events immediately.
  • Assist in instruction of students and new staff as needed.
  • May perform duties of Rad Tech Lead or Imaging Coordinator in their absence.
  • May perform duties in other modalities within licensure scope.
  • Meet productivity levels as established by department benchmarks.
  • Assist other areas during downtimes to maintain productivity.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Associate's Degree in a related field
    OR
  • Certificate in Radiologic Technology

Certifications & Licensure

  • BLS (American Heart Association)
  • IEMA Radiography License (Illinois)
  • Radiography (R) (ARRT)

Experience

  • Ability to perform multiple tasks while coordinating patient flow and technical procedures requiring independent judgment and initiative.
  • Positive attitude and demonstrated willingness to assess and improve the work environment.
