Radiology Technician - Warwick, Rhode Island
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Job Description
- Independently perform all radiology exams without supervision under the direction of the Radiology Manager and Radiologist/Team Leader.
- Operate imaging equipment including X-Ray, Mammography, and Bone Density units.
- Review requisitions to determine proper room setup and radiation amounts.
- Evaluate diagnostic films for quality and repeat unsuitable films as necessary.
- Perform quality control procedures on imaging and ancillary equipment to meet Federal and Joint Commission standards.
- Train employees and students in daily procedures.
- Collaborate and communicate regularly with other departments to facilitate patient access and exam scheduling.
- Demonstrate competency in Radiology Information System (RIS), Clinical Information System (CIS), Picture Archiving System (PACS), and other relevant computer systems.
- Participate in continuing education activities as required.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Credentials & Certifications
- Radiology License: Valid Rhode Island radiographer license (Primary Source Verification required within 30 days of start).
- Certifications:
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (AHA or ARC accepted)
- Education: Degree in Radiology Technology (verification required).
- Driver’s License/State ID: Valid copy required.
Health & Immunization Requirements
- COVID-19 Vaccine series OR Bivalent booster (medical exemptions require prior approval).
- MMR: Proof of 2 immunizations or positive titer for all three.
- Fit Test: N95 mask fit test within 1 year prior to start.
- Hepatitis B: Complete vaccination series or declination (titers not accepted).
- Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (9/1/25 - 5/31/26), no exemptions.
- Positive PPD: Negative chest X-ray and annual TB questionnaire if applicable.
- 2 Step PPD OR IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) within the last year.
- Varicella: Proof of 2 immunizations or positive titer.
- Tdap: Proof of immunization within the last 10 years.
Additional Requirements
- Criminal background check (Federal, County, National, Statewide with OIG, NSO, GSA/SAM searches) within 6 months of start.
- Employment verification for the last 5 years.
- Completion of required orientation, confidentiality agreements, and work attestation forms.
- Badge photo with neutral background.
