Job Overview

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Connecticut
  • Post Partum (1 year of experience)
  • Post Partum experience within the last year
  • BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Preferred Experience

  • Teaching hospital experience
  • Trauma Level I experience

  • Antihypertensives
  • Assist with circumcision and assess site post-op
  • Car seat education
  • Cord care
  • Discharge teaching to parents
  • Infant identification
  • IV antibiotics
  • Newborn assessment
  • Teach circumcision care to parents

  • Pain assessment and management
  • Bladder assessment and Foley catheter insertion

Schedule Notes

  • 8-hour and 12-hour shifts are available
  • Orientation is 1 day, scheduled based on availability
  • Candidates are expected to complete compliance items promptly
  • No start-date pushes will be honored

Additional Notes

  • First-time travelers are accepted
  • Previous permanent employees must observe a 1-year separation period before returning
  • Patient ratio is 1:6–8 (3–4 mother/baby pairs)
  • Scrubs required: Royal Blue
