RN / Home Health Hospice

Overview

• Travel/Contract role in Kansas City, Missouri
• Average daily census: 60
• Home hospice assignment with end-of-life patients
• Caseload support is typically 14–16 patients
• Visits are usually 1–2 times per week and last about 1 hour each
• Full-time schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
• Day shift: 5x8 hours
• On-call required: 1 night shift every other week
• Regular floating may be required between departments, units, and facilities as needed
• First-time travelers accepted
• Local candidates are not accepted; home address must be at least 75 miles from the facility
• Pending license not accepted
• RTO limit: no more than 7 days
• Guaranteed hours: 3 shifts per 13 weeks
• Scrub color: Navy blue
• Charting: EPIC

Required Qualifications

• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Valid RN license in Missouri
• 1 year of Registered Nurse experience
• Hospice (1 year of experience)
• Hospice experience within the last year
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association

Preferred Qualifications

• Ideally licensed in both KS and MO
• MO license is most preferred if not dual licensed

Patient Population / Clinical Focus

• End-of-life patients with prognosis of 6 months or less
• Common diagnoses include Heart Failure, heart disease, COPD, and cancers
• Other diagnoses may include Parkinson's and Alzheimer's

• The role serves MO and/or KS patient caseloads
• Counties served include Jackson, and parts of Clay and Cass in MO, and Johnson and Wyandotte in KS
