Overview

• Travel/contract role in Fredericksburg, Virginia
• Night shift: 3x12s, 19:00-07:30
• Start date: ASAP
• First-timers accepted
• Locals accepted
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Mandatory on-call: 3 shifts per 6-week scheduling period
• Cannot accommodate Christmas Eve/Christmas RTO
• Open to block scheduling: no
• May float within scope to ER and Adult ICU Stepdown units
• Work setting: Adult critical care, ER, Community hospital experience
• Level II Trauma Center
• 431 staffed beds

Required Qualifications

• Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Virginia
• Respiratory Therapist (1 year of experience)
• Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• Experience in a Critical Care setting
• Experience in an Acute Care setting
• Experience in a Hospital setting
• Airway management
• Ability to interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs)
• Experience with O2 therapy
• Suctioning
• Pulmonary toileting
• Experience with BiPAP
• Experience with CPAP

Preferred

• RRT
• NICU experience
• ED experience
• Adult ICU experience
• Adult and neonatal intensive care experience
• Level 2 trauma experience

Additional Notes

• Night shift requires ability to provide aerosol, bronchial hygiene, and lung inflation therapies
• Arterial blood gas draw and analysis, plus CPAP/BiPAP implementation and management, are part of the role
• Attendance at monthly department meetings is required when working; if not working, the candidate must read the meeting minutes and acknowledge understanding
