Work Schedule

• Shift: Day, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM)
• Patient Ratio: 1:5-6
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• On-call: No
• Floating: Required to float within scope to meet facility needs between like units/sister facilities

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in South Carolina
• Minimum 2 years of Med Surg / Telemetry experience, with experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• ACLS certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Copy of Driver’s License/State ID
• Social Security Card or SSN verification
• Completed and accurate I-9 form with E-Verify attestation
• Annual background check covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years, including:

  • SSN Trace
  • Statewide and national criminal checks
  • Sex Offender Registry
  • FACIS 3 and international searches if applicable
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
• Education verification or diploma/transcripts as placeholder
• Primary source license verification (active, unencumbered, no pending actions)
• NURSYS verification for RN license
• Proof of 2 clinical references (hospital evaluations accepted)
• Verification of last 3 clinical employers (or as many as applicable)
• Color Blind Testing (required prior to start)
• Medication/Pharmacology Competency Exam (required)
• Competency Exam (required)
• Facility-specific orientation modules and job description acknowledgment prior to start
• Clear, passport-style badge photo (frontal view, business casual attire, no hats/sunglasses)

Health & Safety Requirements

• Physical exam attesting ability to meet physical demands, updated annually
• Negative TB test (T-spot or Q-Gold) within 90 days of start or proof of prior positive with chest x-ray
• Annual TB questionnaire completion
• Immunizations or proof of immunity required for:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or declination form)
  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Aug 1 – Mar 31)
• COVID-19 vaccination highly preferred; if declined, must complete vaccination declination form
• 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
• Respirator medical clearance annually (RespSafety questionnaire)

Additional Notes

• Facility may accommodate block scheduling upon approval prior to assignment (not guaranteed)
• Local candidates accepted on a case-by-case basis
• Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
• During hurricane season (June–November), all staff may be assigned to emergency response teams; avoid confirming new or extension assignments during this period if this is a concern

This position offers an opportunity to work in a Level III Trauma acute care hospital with a focus on telemetry nursing. Candidates should be prepared for a dynamic environment requiring flexibility to float between units and meet facility needs.
