Medical Technologist Travel/Contract Position
Location: Bloomington, Indiana
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Shift: Night, 4 shifts per week, 10 hours each (19:30 - 6:00)
Contract Length: 14 weeks
Job Description
- Must have experience working with Roche Cobas and Remisol laboratory systems.
- Able to work in all areas of the laboratory.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Technologist, with experience within the last year.
- Experience with Roche Cobas and Remisol laboratory systems.
- Certification: ASCP - MLS or MT, or ASCP - MLT required; CLS preferred.
- Valid state license for Medical Technologist.
- Must provide a minimum of 2 professional references from recent employment within the last 2 years. References must be from individuals with titles such as charge, manager, supervisor, or above.
- Skills checklist completed within 12 months and updated annually.
Required Documents & Compliance
- Valid Driver’s License or Passport (clear copy).
- Background checks including 7 years of residence/work history, SSN trace, county/state/national criminal checks, sex offender registry, and education verification.
- Education verification with official transcript or diploma showing degree and graduation date.
- Physical exam completed within 12 months of start date.
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months of start date (including amphetamines, marijuana, cocaine, opiates, PCP).
- Tuberculosis screening (PPD, QuantiFERON-TB Gold, or T-SPOT) within 1 year of start date; if positive, chest x-ray and proof of positive history required.
- Immunizations or positive titers required for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Varicella (no history accepted, must have positive titer or 2 vaccines)
- Hepatitis B (series, titer, or signed declination)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required for flu season (9/30 - 3/31). Declinations not accepted.
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine preferred but not required.
- Fit mask test within 12 months of start date with approved respirators (3M N95 models or Honeywell N95). On-site fit testing available only with prior approval and limited locations.
- Color blindness test (Ishihara or equivalent) with minimum 100% score required.
- Competency exams including medication/pharmacology test and unit competency exam required.
Uniform
- Royal blue scrub top (purchased through uniform shop) and black or blue pants.
Additional Notes
- Must complete facility-specific compliance and orientation documents prior to start.
- Background checks and license verifications must be current and completed within specified timeframes before start date.
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
