Job Opportunity: Home Health Registered Nurse
Location: Walla Walla, Washington
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: Day shift, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (5x8 hours)
- Weekend: Weekend rotation with a day off before and after weekend shifts worked
- Average Patients per Day: 5-7 (to be confirmed during interview)
- Caseload: Geriatric patients
- On-Call: No
- Territory: Up to 60-mile radius from the office covering Walla Walla County and parts of Columbia and Umatilla counties
- Dress Code: Scrubs of any color; jeans are not allowed
- Device Provided: iPad
- Cell Phone: Not allowed for work use
- Mileage Reimbursement: Yes, at IRS standard rate
- Flexibility: Must be flexible with territory coverage
- Documentation: Timely documentation and communication required
Required Qualifications
- License: Valid Washington state RN license or compact license required and must be in hand before start
- Experience: Minimum 1 year recent experience as a Registered Nurse in Home Health
- Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) required (AHA, ARC, Military accepted)
- OASIS Experience: Required
- EMR Experience: Experience with HCHB (Homecare Homebase) required
- Prior Travel Experience: Not accepted for first-time travelers (first timers not accepted)
Compliance and Background Requirements
- Background checks including SSN trace, county searches (last 7 years), FACIS Level 1, nationwide sex offender, motor vehicle records, education and work history verification (with some exceptions for extended flips)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 90 days of start
- Fingerprinting required for candidates who have not lived in Washington for the past 3 years (completed on-site)
- Education verification of highest degree related to profession
- State-specific criminal history and employability status checks as applicable
- Signed orientation safety manual acknowledgment (updated annually)
- NURSYS license verification within 90 days of start
- Medication/pharmacology competency exam as applicable
- Proof of current auto insurance required due to driving responsibilities
Health and Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within the last 12 months (not required annually)
- Fit test for N95 mask (no specific model required)
- Negative TB test (PPD, Q Gold, or TSpot) within 1 year or chest X-ray within 5 years if positive PPD
- Annual TB questionnaire required for all candidates
- Immunizations or positive titers for:
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B
- Varicella
- Flu vaccine or facility-specific declination form required during flu season
- COVID vaccination or facility-specific declination required
- 9-panel drug screen within 12 months (instant acceptable)
Additional Requirements
- Two professional references within 2 years of start (travel, allied, per diem acute care)
- Full 7 years of work history documented with no gaps (not required for extended flips)
- Annual skills checklist
- Employment history verification for 7 years with attempts documented if unverifiable
- Completion of facility-specific acceptable use policy prior to start
- Facility-specific background attestation and agency attestation required
