ICU Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Seymour, Indiana
Contract Length: 8 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (6:00 PM to 6:00 AM)
• Hours per week: 36

Required Qualifications

• License: Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for Indiana
• Certifications:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA or ARC preferred, other vendors acceptable if including written test and skills demonstration
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA or ARC preferred, other vendors acceptable if including written test and skills demonstration
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – AHA or ARC preferred, other vendors acceptable if including written test and skills demonstration
• Experience: Minimum years of experience not explicitly stated; assume standard ICU RN experience expected
• References: Two professional references from within the past 3 years

Compliance and Background Requirements

• Background check within 1 year covering all locations lived, worked, or attended school, including:

  • SSN Trace
  • County, State, Federal, Nationwide, National Sex Offender, FACIS Level 1
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
• Education verification required (Diploma or Transcript accepted)
• Primary source verification of state license

Health and Safety Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year prior to start (not required annually)
• Immunizations/vaccinations:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (Tdap vaccine required, no 10-year update needed)
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or titer)
  • Hepatitis B (3 vaccines with positive titer, positive titer alone, or signed declination)
  • Varicella (2 vaccines or titer)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year prior to start (2-step PPD, QuantiFERON Gold, or T-SPOT)
• Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 1 year prior to start (instant accepted, no annual update required)
• Flu vaccine recommended but not required for 2025-26 season
• COVID vaccination/documentation not required but preferred if available

Competencies and Facility Requirements

• Medication test/pharmacology competency exam required
• General competency exam required
• Annual orientation safety manual acknowledgement
• Annual skills checklist
• Facility-specific documents to review and sign:

  • Confidentiality statement
  • Attestation of eligibility
  • Self-learning orientation packet acknowledgment
• Completion of approximately 1-2 hours of computer-based learning modules annually, typically assigned 2 weeks prior to start
