Cath Lab Registered Nurse - Travel/Contract

Location: La Jolla, California
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Employment Type: Travel/Contract
• Shift: Day shift, 4 days a week, 10 hours per day (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM)
• Total Hours per Week: 40
• Call Requirement: One night per week and one weekend every 5 weeks
• Specialty: Registered Nurse with Cath Lab experience

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in California
• Cardiac Cath Lab experience of at least 1 year, with experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Certifications:

  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Proof of W4 on file
• 7-year criminal background check including:

  • SSN trace
  • County, state, federal, and national criminal searches
  • National sex offender search
• HHS/OIG clearance required
• Physical exam within 12 months of start
• Negative TB test (PPD, Qgold, or Tspot) or chest x-ray within 12 months
• Tdap vaccine required (no declinations accepted)
• Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella: 2 vaccines or titer with boosters if needed (no declinations accepted)
• Hepatitis B vaccination series, titer, or signed declination accepted
• 9-panel drug test within 1 year of start
• COVID-19 vaccination required or approved medical/religious exemption
• Flu vaccination or agency flu declination required year-round
• N95 fit test within 1 year of start (specific approved mask models required)

Facility-Specific Requirements

• Completion of facility-specific learning modules (approx. 8 hours) prior to start
• Pyxis acknowledgment signed prior to start
• Standards of Conduct and Confidentiality/Non-Disclosure agreements signed prior to start (annual renewal required)
• Facility requires at least 6 months of EPIC or Cerner experience; less than 6 months for RNs results in auto-cancel
• Validation of Qualifications and Documentation Checklist completed and signed within 30 days of start
• Must complete facility-specific job description form prior to start
• Two satisfactory professional references required
• Employment application required and must be current for assignment audits

Additional Notes

• No scrub color requirement; OR and Labor & Delivery scrubs provided by facility
• Radiation badges supplied only if working in Interventional Radiology or similar units (not required for Cath Lab RN)
• Traveler must bring PAPR mask if N95 fit test is failed, as onsite PAPR testing is not available

This position is ideal for experienced Cath Lab RNs who meet California licensure and certification requirements, have prior Cath Lab experience, and are comfortable with call responsibilities and compliance documentation.
