Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse – MS/Telemetry Nights
Location: Fayetteville, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
- Patient Ratio: 1:5-6
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Floating: Required to float within scope to meet facility needs between like units
- Block Scheduling: Open to accommodating
- Local Candidates: Not accepted (must be outside a 50-mile radius from main campus)
- Pending License: Not accepted
- Guaranteed Hours: Call-off policy allows 2 shifts off per 13-week assignment; all contracted shifts thereafter guaranteed
- Return Staff Policy: Must be gone for 1 year to return as a traveler
- Contract Limit: Maximum of 2 contracts (one extension allowed), then must be gone for 6 months before returning
- First-time Travelers: Accepted
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
- Minimum 2 years of Telemetry nursing experience, with Telemetry experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Health and Safety Requirements
- Physical Exam: Required within 1 year, updated annually
- Immunizations/Vaccines:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within last 10 years (no declinations accepted for new hires)
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Titer or 2 vaccines required; boosters if titers negative or equivocal
- Varicella: Titer or 2 vaccines required; boosters if titers negative or equivocal
- Hepatitis B: Vaccine series, positive titer, or signed declination accepted
- Flu Vaccine: Required during flu season (Aug 1 – Mar 31); medical or religious exemptions accepted with facility approval
- TB Screening: Negative PPD, Q Gold, or T-spot within 1 year; chest X-ray required if positive PPD within last 5 years
- Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start (specific substances tested)

- Documentation: Multiple facility-specific forms and acknowledgments must be completed and signed prior to start (e.g., confidentiality agreement, emergency contact, job description review)
- Modules: Mandatory pre-start training modules must be completed through the facility’s system before starting
- Flu Exemptions: Must be approved by facility with supporting documentation; exemptions must be resubmitted annually
- COVID-19 Vaccines: Not required but accepted if available
