Job Details

  • AHA BLS
  • CRT
  • ARRT Rad Fluoro permit
• Orientation: Last orientation of the year is December 15; assignments starting after will begin in January

Required Documentation & Compliance

Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support): AHA or RQI, required for all clinical positions
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): Required for DOU, Med Surg, Tele, PCU, ICU, and ED (not required for OR)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support): AHA required
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure): AHA required for OBGYN
• EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring): Intermediate AWHONN for Labor and Delivery RNs, updated every 2 years
• Tech Certifications:

  • ARRT preferred for CT Tech, MRI Tech, IR Tech, Rad Tech, Cath Lab/EP Rad Tech, CVT
  • CRT & Venipuncture required for CT and MRI Techs
  • CRT & Fluoro required for IR Tech, Rad Tech, Cath Lab Tech/EP Rad Tech
  • CVT or RCIS for Cardiovascular Techs
• NIH Stroke Certification: Required for DOU/MedSurg/PCU/Tele, ICU, ER, IR, and Cath Lab; must be valid for assignment length and updated annually
• CA Venipuncture Certification: Required for CT, MRI, and Nuclear Med Techs
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute): Required for Emergency Department travelers

Background Checks

• 7-year criminal background check including:

  • SSN Trace
  • County, Statewide, Federal, National Criminal, and National Sex Offender searches
• HHS/OIG check required
• Transcript/Diploma required for Surgical Techs who are not certified

Licenses

• Primary source verification required for RNs and Techs
• California license required for per diem staff (EMSA not accepted for per diem)

Facility-Specific Requirements

• No scrub color requirement; OR and L&D scrubs provided by facility
• Minimum 6 months of EPIC or Cerner experience required for RNs and CNAs (less than 6 months for CNAs requires case-by-case approval)
• Pyxis Acknowledgment signed by all RNs and RCPs prior to start
• Completion of facility-specific job description and learning modules (approx. 8 hours) before start
• Validation of Qualifications and Documentation Checklist must be completed and signed prior to start
• Standards of Conduct and Confidentiality & Non-Disclosure Agreements must be reviewed and signed annually (expires end of February)
• Interview notes required for MS/Tele/DOU, PCU, ICU, and ER units (clinical positions only)
• Vaccine Attestation form required regardless of vaccination status

Health & Safety Requirements

• Physical Exam: Within 12 months of start
• N95 Fit Test: Proof required within 1 year of start; facility does not provide onsite testing
• Tdap Vaccine: Required, no declinations accepted
• TB Testing: Negative PPD, Qgold, or Tspot within 12 months; annual updates required
• Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella: 2 vaccines or titer with boosters if negative or equivocal; no declinations accepted
• Hepatitis B: Vaccination series, titer, or signed declination accepted
• Drug Testing: 9-panel within 1 year of start
• Flu Vaccination: Required year-round or agency flu declination; masks required for unimmunized personnel during flu season
• COVID-19 Vaccination: Required unless approved medical or religious exemption is on file; testing required 48 hours prior to start for exempt travelers
