Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Nurse (Registered Nurse)

Location: Chicago, Illinois
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Details

Specialty: Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery (L&D)
Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (2 weekends per month)
Call Requirements: None
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
Time Off (RTO): Maximum 5 days off with no more than 2 consecutive days; no time off allowed on holidays, weekends, or the day before/after a holiday
Float Requirement: Mandatory floating within scope of practice as needed by the facility

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Minimum 2 years of experience in OB/GYN, including high-risk (Level 3) OB experience
OB/GYN experience within the last year
Experience working with high-risk patients
Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- AWHONN Intermediate
- NIH Stroke Scale Certification (NIHSS)
- EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring)
- Bystander Intervention Training

Local Candidates: Accepted and preferred within a 75-mile radius

Charting System: Cerner
Scrub Color: Any color allowed

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

Government-issued photo ID
Background checks covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
Various certifications and verifications as required by the specialty and facility
Physical exam within 12 months, signed by PA, NP, DO, or MD
Fit mask test (N95 or equivalent) within 1 year, with annual renewal
Immunizations and titers including Tdap, MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, and TB screening
Negative 9-panel drug screen within 90 days of start, updated annually
Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season
Competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests as required

Notes

Floating is mandatory to meet facility needs
No block scheduling for shifts
