Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Technologist
Location: Portland, Oregon
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Work schedule: 4x10 hour day shifts
- Call requirement: Average of 4-6 call shifts per month
- Function as an integral member of the Interventional Radiology team, collaborating with physicians and nurses to provide high-quality patient care.
- Procedures vary widely, including central line placements, embolizations, and stroke interventions.
- Patient population ranges from neonates to geriatrics.
- Rotate between two Interventional Radiology locations within the hospital.
- Provide direct patient care using medical imaging techniques to assist in diagnosis and treatment.
- Assist with radiographic procedures demonstrating vascular and non-vascular structures.
- Ensure radiation safety for patients and team members.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in Oregon
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist, including experience within the last year
- Minimum 2 years of experience operating radiologic equipment or equivalent combination of specialized training and experience
- BLS certification
- OBMI certification
- ARRT certification
Licensure
- Must hold a valid state license appropriate for Radiology Technologists in Oregon.
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Valid government-issued photo ID required on first day.
- Background check within 6 months prior to start, including education and work history verification.
- National Sex Offender Search and other federal/state screenings required within 30 days prior to start.
- Drug testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen including methamphetamines within 3 months prior to start.
- Physical exam and fit mask testing required within one year prior to start.
- Immunizations and/or proof of immunity required for:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (or signed declination)
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (full vaccine series, immune titer, or signed declination)
- Varicella
- Flu vaccination or signed declination required annually.
- TB testing: Negative 2-step PPD, TSPOT, or QGOLD within 12 months of start; chest x-ray and questionnaire if positive history.
- Stroke-related continuing education units (CEUs) required annually for relevant units.
- Competency exams and color blindness testing as applicable.
References and Work History
- Two professional references from managers or supervisors within the last 24 months required.
- Employment application must include at least 7 years of work history with city and state for each position.

- Candidates must be fully available for compliance needs up until start date.
- Professional appearance policy must be reviewed and signed prior to start.
- Completion of required orientation and training modules prior to start is mandatory.
- Respirator clearance and fit testing must be completed prior to or onsite at start.
- Candidates may be required to complete facility-specific attestations and forms related to infection control and safety protocols.
