Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - ICU

Location: Columbia, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

  • Work every other weekend and 50% of holidays.
  • Floating required primarily to Adult ICU Cluster; secondary to Medical-Surgical.
  • Rotating shifts, including holidays and inclement weather.
  • Active role requiring ambulation, reaching, and moving objects over 20 lbs.
  • Exposure to patients with contagious illnesses.
  • Must be able to work full shifts, take call, and work assigned weekends and holidays.

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri
  • Minimum of 1 year of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience, with ICU experience within the last year
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • ABLS (Advanced Burn Life Support) certification
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Required Background & Compliance

  • 7-year background check within 60 days of start.
  • E-Verify or attestation proof.
  • State-specific background checks and registries (Missouri FCSR or Caregiver search) required within 60 days.
  • Drug screening: Negative 7-panel within 60 days of start.
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start.
  • Fit mask test within 1 year of start (specific mask types required).
  • Immunizations and health screenings including:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or approved exemption)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (updated annually)
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination
    • Hepatitis B series or positive titer (declinations not accepted for new candidates)
    • Varicella immunity or vaccination
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption (required during flu season)

Additional Requirements

  • Photo for badge (new candidates only).
  • Completion of facility-specific forms including confidentiality agreements and employment eligibility.
  • References: 2 professional references within the last 2 years.
  • Resume with at least 7 years of employment history, no gaps over 30 days.
  • Ability to work at assigned location for the full contract term.

Physical Demands

  • Active role requiring physical stamina.
  • Must be able to ambulate, reach, and lift/move objects over 20 lbs.

Notes

  • This position is in a 24/7 healthcare facility.
  • Rotating shifts and holiday work are mandatory.
  • Floating between ICU and Med Surg units is required.
