Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Location: Omaha, Nebraska
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Shift: Adult day shift
    • Two days: 07:45 AM – 07:15 PM
    • Two days: 02:45 PM – 11:15 PM
    • Total 40 hours per week
  • Start Date: As soon as possible (may be adjusted due to licensing processing time of 6-8 weeks)
  • Patient Population: Adult
  • Work Environment: Level 1 Trauma, Academic Medical Center
  • Charting System: Epic (preferred)

Required Qualifications

  • Licensure:
    • Nebraska state license preferred to have in hand before start
    • CRT required, RRT preferred
  • Certifications:
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) required
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) required
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 3 years of respiratory therapy experience preferred
    • At least 1 year of experience at a large (>500 bed) Level 1 Trauma, Academic Medical Center required
    • Level 1 Trauma experience required
  • Travel Experience:
    • First-time travelers accepted (prior travel experience NOT required)

Additional Requirements

  • Must be located more than 100 miles from the facility (no local candidates)
  • Government-issued photo ID required
  • Background check including all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
  • Various health and competency verifications including:
    • Physical exam within 1 year, updated annually
    • Fit mask test within 1 year, updated annually
    • Immunizations and titers (MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Tdap)
    • Negative TB test or chest x-ray as applicable
    • Drug screening within 60 days of start, updated annually
    • Annual skills checklist
  • References: Two work references from the past 2 years required
  • State-specific registry and abuse/neglect checks required

Summary

This is a travel contract opportunity for a Registered Respiratory Therapist with a minimum of 3 years of experience, including trauma center experience. The role requires Nebraska licensure (preferred in hand), ACLS and BLS certifications, and the ability to work a mix of day and evening shifts totaling 40 hours per week. First-time travel therapists are welcome to apply. Candidates must be located more than 100 miles from the facility.
