Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - CVOR
Location: Saint Louis, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Schedule: 3x12 hour shifts (0615-1845), Monday to Friday
- Call Requirements: Weekend on-call required per policy; 3-4 weekday and 1-2 weekend call shifts per 6-week schedule period (may vary based on unit needs)
- Shift Start Times: 0630, 0800, 0900, 1100 (rotating shifts as needed)
- Floating: Floating within service line required
- Local Candidates: Not accepted (home address must be at least 75 miles from facility)
- Pending License: Accepted
- Return to Office Restrictions: No more than 7 days
Specialty & Experience
- Specialty: Registered Nurse - Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)
- Required Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty; 1 year considered if experience is at a Level 1 Trauma Facility
- First-Time Travelers: Accepted only if more than 2 years experience at a Level 1 Trauma Facility
- Scrub and Circulate Experience: Required for cardiac, thoracic, and vascular cases
- Case Types: Cardiac and thoracic primarily; vascular (open and endovascular procedures), transplant (liver, kidney, pancreas), Whipple (pancreatic procedures)
Required Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- Preferred: BSN degree
On-Call & Scheduling
- On-call as needed, with variable weekday and weekend shifts based on unit needs
- No block scheduling accommodations
Facility Type
- Short Term Acute Care
- Teaching hospital with Level 1 Trauma designation
Required Qualifications & Compliance
- Valid RN license in Missouri
- Minimum 2 years of CVOR experience, with CVOR experience within the last year
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Thoracic procedure CVOR scrub experience
- Circulate experience
Additional Requirements
- Must complete facility-specific orientation modules (approximately 16 hours) via online platform prior to start
- Must adhere to facility dress code, hand hygiene, fingernail, and latex allergy policies
- Badge photo required (head and shoulders, white background, no obstructions, taken within 6 months)
- Vehicle registration form required for day shift workers
- References: Two professional references required, preferably supervisors within the last year
- Employment application must be submitted and uploaded for facility review

- Floating within the service line may be required to meet facility needs
- Parking is available but not reimbursed; fees vary by location and shift
- Weekend and holiday shifts may be required as needed, with advance notice
- Candidates must be prepared for rotating shifts and on-call responsibilities
This position is ideal for experienced CVOR Registered Nurses with strong scrub and circulate skills in cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgeries, who are comfortable with on-call duties and working in a Level 1 Trauma teaching hospital environment.
