Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Job Description

• Work schedule: 4x10 hour shifts, weekdays 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
• On-call every 5th weekend
• Orientation: 2 days (classroom + unit orientation), occurs every other week on Thursdays
• Patient population: Adults & Geriatrics
• Patient ratio: 1:1 staffing
• May be floated to general lab duties as needed
• No blocked schedules accommodated
• Must have active West Virginia RDCS - Adult license to start
• Guaranteed 40 hours per week

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Valid RN license in West Virginia
• Minimum 2 years of Interventional Radiology experience, with experience within the last year
• RDCS certification
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Special Procedures / Unit Details

• Procedures include: Angiogram, Fistulogram, Permacath, EVAR, TCAR, TAVR, MitraClip, Mechanical Thrombectomy, Embolization
• Patient diagnoses commonly seen: Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), Coronary Artery Disease (CAD), Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD), Peripheral Vascular Disease (PVD), Stenosis, Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA), Stroke, Aneurysm

Call & Weekend Requirements

• On-call rotation every 5th weekend
• Call details to be discussed during interview

Orientation & Training

• Orientation includes Cerner Infusion Management training
• Pass/fail testing required for EKG, medication calculation, and blood administration (Nursing only)
• Annual inservice training modules must be completed prior to start
• Fit mask testing required annually (N95 3M models accepted)
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, confirming good health and no physical limitations

Immunization & Health Requirements

• Flu vaccine required during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31) unless approved medical or religious exemption is provided
• COVID-19 vaccination NOT required
• Tdap vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions accepted with approval)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 3 months of start
• MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccinations or positive titers required
• Hepatitis B vaccination or titer documentation required
• Varicella vaccination or positive titers required
• Drug screening within 30 days of start, including a full panel of substances

Documentation & Submission Requirements

• Candidate profile with work history
• Specialty-specific skills checklist (annual)
• Minimum 2 manager/charge nurse references within past 2 years
• RN license verification (NURSYS verification within 2 days of submission)
• Valid Driver’s License and Social Security Card
• Background check within 30 days of start (7-year criminal history, sex offender search, national/international checks if applicable)
• Various facility-specific documents including dress code, blood administration policy, math calculation review, and vaccination exemption forms if applicable

Additional Notes

• Candidates cannot return as travelers within 2 years of last permanent day worked at this facility
• No accommodations for blocked schedules
• Must comply with all facility policies and complete required testing and training prior to start
• Candidate must notify manager of any latex allergy
• PAPR accommodations available if unable to pass fit testing due to facial hair or face shape
