Job Opportunity: Medical Surgical Registered Nurse

Position Details

• Unit: Med Surg, 3North Tower
• Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Patient Ratio: 1:6
• Experience: Minimum 1 year in Medical Surgical nursing
• First-time travelers accepted
• EPIC electronic health record experience required

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kentucky
• Minimum of 1 year of Medical Surgical nursing experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience with EPIC electronic health record system

Background and Verification Requirements

• 7-year criminal background check covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
• Education verification matching specialty required; diploma or transcript acceptable if verification unavailable
• Kentucky Vulnerable Adult Maltreatment Registry check required for all candidates
• Two professional references required (one reference for non-clinical candidates)
• Employment application and unit-specific skills checklist (updated annually) required

Additional Information

• Badge photo required (shoulders up, solid light background)
• Respiratory fit test waiver available for failed fit tests due to medical or religious reasons; must be approved annually
• Performance evaluations completed by unit managers; no pre-start submission required

Summary

This is a 13-week travel contract for a Medical Surgical RN with night shifts in Kentucky. Candidates must have at least 1 year of Med Surg experience, be licensed in Kentucky, and hold BLS certification. EPIC experience is mandatory. First-time travelers are welcome. Comprehensive background checks, immunizations, and health screenings are required prior to start.
