Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Endoscopy

Location: Burlington, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 26 weeks


Job Description

  • Work schedule: 4x10 hour shifts, days (7:00 AM - 5:30 PM), Monday - Friday, with occasional weekends
  • Call required:
    • Weekend call approximately every 6-7 weekends (48 hours from 7 AM Saturday to 7 AM Monday)
    • Weeknight call approximately 1 night every 2 weeks (5 PM - 7 AM)
    • Holiday call coverage may be required (24 hours)
  • Floating required to other Endoscopy Centers within the system
  • Experience with portable/bedside travel cases, pre/post procedure, and inpatient care required
  • EPIC electronic health record system experience required

Procedures involved:

  • Screening and therapeutic colonoscopy
  • Upper endoscopy with BRAVO
  • Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP)
  • Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS)
  • Capsule Endoscopy

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
  • Minimum of 1 year of Endoscopy experience, including experience within the last year
  • Experience in inpatient settings, including pre/post procedure care
  • Experience with portable/bedside travel cases
  • Proficient with EPIC electronic health record system
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Pass/fail competency testing including EKG and medication exams
  • Completion and acknowledgement of Orientation Safety Manual
  • Acknowledgement of Pass/Fail Testing requirements
  • State License 1 Verification
  • NURSYS Verification (RN, LPN/LVN, AP)
  • Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) training
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

    • Hepatitis B titer or declination
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption
  • Fit mask test (N95) completed within current calendar year and updated annually
  • Fingerprinting required for certain positions (Home Health and Long-Term Care only)

  • Candidate must be flexible with scheduling and aware of zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences
  • Must complete mandatory health history form and other facility-specific documents prior to clearance
  • Must submit a professional badge photo meeting strict facility guidelines (no selfies, hats, masks, etc.)
  • Two supervisory references required from clinical assignments within the last 24 months
  • Employment application/resume with 7-year work history required
  • Verification of all employment within last 5 years required
