Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Seeking an Occupational Therapist experienced in pediatric feeding assessment and treatment. The role includes managing pediatric patients with feeding/eating difficulties and some general pediatric developmental occupational therapy coverage.
Patient Population & Diagnoses
- Pediatric patients primarily with feeding disorders
- Common diagnoses: Pediatric Feeding Disorder, Oral Aversion, Feeding Difficulties, Dysphagia, ARFID, Failure to Thrive, Autism, Developmental Delay, Motor Delay, Fine Motor Delay, Sensory Processing Difficulties, and various genetic/developmental diagnoses
- Patient age range: Experience required with patients 18 months and older; experience with patients 8 months and older preferred
Work Schedule
- Shift: Four 10-hour days (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday) from 8:00 AM to 6:30 PM (patient care hours 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM)
- Wednesday off
- Orientation/training: 1 to 2 weeks at a designated location prior to assignment start
- No on-call requirements; may call off based on patient volume
- Guaranteed hours after call-off policy is met
Required Qualifications
- Valid Pediatric Occupational Therapist license in California
- Minimum 1.5 years of pediatric occupational therapy experience, including experience within the last year
- Experience working with pediatric patients, specifically in assessment and treatment of pediatric feeding/eating difficulties
- NBCOT certification
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- California OT License or eligibility to obtain one (may practice under the 60-day rule if licensed in another state, but must pursue CA license immediately)
Orientation & Training
- 1 to 2 weeks orientation/training at a designated location before starting the assignment
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Valid photo ID (front and back) required on first day
- Background checks including criminal history, education verification, and federal exclusions within 30 days of start
- Transcripts and diploma required for OT outpatient positions
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, stating good health without restrictions
- Fit test for approved N95 masks within 1 year of start
- Immunizations and titers required: Tdap (within 10 years), Hepatitis B (series or titer), MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), Varicella
- Negative TB test (Qgold/Tspot within 6 months or two negative PPDs)
- Negative 9-panel drug test (non-THC) within 30 days of start
- Annual competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests with required passing scores
- Professional license verification within 30 days of start
- Badge photo meeting specific requirements (recent, plain background, JPEG format)
- Completion of facility-specific forms including HIPAA, confidentiality, code of conduct, meal waiver, and professional accountability expectations prior to start
- References: Two supervisory references verified within 1 year of start from clinical leadership (director, supervisor, or manager)
