EEG Tech Travel/Contract Position

Location: Anchorage, Alaska
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, 5 days per week, 8 hours per day (8:00 AM – 4:00 PM)
Average Daily Census: 4 patients
Patient Age Groups: Infants, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics


Job Description

  • Perform EEG procedures; dual certification in EEG/EMG preferred.
  • Candidates must be R.EEGT certified and have at least 1 year experience performing Nerve Conduction Studies (NCS) or be willing as 1st timers are accepted.
  • Documentation systems used: NeuroWorkbench, Cerner.
  • Onsite onboarding and orientation provided.

Required Qualifications

  • EEG Technician with at least 1 year of experience, including experience within the last year
  • ABRET certification required
  • R.EEGT certification required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

Compliance and Background Requirements

  • Standard background check within 90 days of start, including SS Trace and County searches for the last 7 years.
  • Education verification or diploma related to specialty required.
  • Sex offender search run within 30 days of start.
  • Alaska State License required; out-of-state compact license accepted with facility approval and proof of Alaska application.
  • Fingerprinting not required for this facility.

Health and Safety Requirements

  • Physical exam required and must be renewed annually.
  • Fit mask test with approved facility masks required within 1 year prior to start; must be renewed annually.
  • Proof of Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination required.
  • Negative TB test (QGOLD, TSPOT, or PPD) within 1 year required; if positive, chest X-ray within 5 years required.
  • TB questionnaire required annually regardless of TB test results.
  • Proof of immunity or vaccination for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella required.
  • Hepatitis B titer, vaccine series, or facility-specific declination required.
  • Negative 10-panel drug test within 30 days of start; no instant tests accepted.
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or medical exemption with verifiable diagnosis required (declinations not accepted).
  • COVID-19 vaccination required (initial series or one J&J dose plus seasonal/bi-valent vaccine); medical exemptions accepted with doctor’s letter; declinations and religious exemptions not accepted.

Facility-Specific Requirements

  • Completion of personal data, confidentiality, badge, and non-employee background release forms prior to start.
  • Completion of orientation handbook and acknowledgment.
  • Completion of pre-boarding and non-employee onboarding tasks through facility’s internal system, including profile registration within 72 hours of booking.
  • Mandatory HealthStream training modules assigned during orientation (approx. 15 minutes each).
  • Photo for badge highly preferred but not mandatory.
  • Two clinical references required.
  • Clinical skills checklist required.

Additional Notes

  • Candidates must complete medication/pharmacology competency exams and general competency exams as required.
  • No prior travel experience required; first-time travelers are welcome.
  • Facility does not require fingerprinting for this position.
  • Onsite AVADE Workplace Violence Prevention Training available if needed.

This position offers a structured day shift schedule with a manageable patient load across all age groups, ideal for EEG Technologists with R.EEGT certification and some NCS experience seeking a travel contract in Alaska.
