Job Opportunity: Operating Room Registered Nurse
Location: Baton Rouge, Louisiana
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Weekend call required: one weekend every six-week schedule period (Saturday/Sunday)
- Previous travel experience required
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana
- Minimum of 1 year of Operating Room (OR) experience, with OR experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Previous travel nursing experience
Health and Background Requirements
- Copy of valid photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- Criminal background check (updated if no assignment within last 90 days)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, updated annually
- Annual respirator fit testing (Fit Mask)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, with appropriate follow-up documentation if applicable
- TB questionnaire required annually
- 12 Panel Drug Screen within 90 days prior to start (includes amphetamines, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, cocaine, marijuana, MDMA, methadone, opiates, oxycodone, PCP, tricyclic antidepressants)
- Influenza and COVID-19 vaccination exemption forms available for medical or religious reasons (facility-specific forms required)
- Flu vaccination documentation not required for employment but recommended per Aya standards
Additional Requirements
- Two professional references required
- Completion of facility-specific orientation and training courses, including Healthstream and system access/confidentiality agreements
- Candidates must complete glucose testing return demonstration during orientation to perform accuchecks
Notes
- This position requires prior travel nursing experience.
- Weekend call commitment is part of the schedule.
- All certifications and health requirements must be current and verifiable before start.
