Job Details
- Unit: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) - Night Shift (4 shifts of 12 hours, 18:30 to 7:00)
- Patient Ratio: 1:4
- Unit Size: 55 beds
- Weekend Requirement: As needed, rotating schedule
- Float Requirement: Yes
- On Call: None
- Block Scheduling: Case by case
- Cardiovascular experience required
- Scrub color: Any (no logo)
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in New Mexico
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 1 year of experience in Cardiac PCU - Progressive Care Unit within the last year
- Cardiovascular experience
- BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Background checks including 7-year history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG
- Education verification (transcript/diploma acceptable as placeholder if needed)
- Fingerprinting required onsite during orientation (New Mexico placements only)
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Fit mask test within 1 year of start, renewed annually (fit test done onsite)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
- Immunizations and titers required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines (boosters required if negative/equivocal)
- Hepatitis B: Positive titer, series, or declination accepted
- Varicella: Positive titer, 2 vaccines, or physician-documented history
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
- Photo for badge required
- Employment application and unit-specific skills checklist required annually
- 7-year work history verification required
Additional Notes
- Drivers license or state ID required
- E-Verify and attestation required for direct and subcontract candidates
- References are an internal requirement only; not required for clearance
- Orientation safety manual and HIPAA acknowledgement required
- Facility-specific forms (e.g., fingerprint consent, vehicle registration) must be completed prior to start
