Registered Nurse - MS/Telemetry

Location: Greensboro, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Shift: Nights, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
  • Schedule: Every 3rd weekend and holidays as needed
  • Float required across multiple campuses
  • Patient ratio: 1:6
  • Unit: Inpatient rehabilitation with specialized care for patients with CVA, TBI, ABI, spinal cord injury, neurological diagnoses, generalized debility, post-stroke, aneurysm, and post-op surgical rehabilitation needs
  • Acute care rehab experience preferred

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
  • Minimum 1 year of Med Surg / Telemetry nursing experience within the last year
  • Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Medication Administration Badge (MAB)
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Certifications & Exams

  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Pass/Fail EKG (Dysrhythmia) Exam
  • EPIC test (pass required; 2 attempts allowed)
  • Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement
  • Medication/Pharmacology Competency Exam (must score 80% or higher)
  • Competency Exam (80% or higher)
  • Additional certifications may be required depending on unit (e.g., NIH Stroke Certification for Cardiac Progressive Care and MS/Tele units)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
  • Social Security Card (required for badge)
  • Background check within 60 days covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years, including aliases, national criminal, sex offender, federal court, FACIS Level 3, and education verification
  • Foreign equivalency evaluation if education obtained outside the U.S. (must be submitted within 30 days of start)
  • Education verification: Associate’s degree in nursing or higher required
  • Transcript or diploma copy may be required for verification
  • NURSYS license verification within 60 days of start
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 40 days of start (includes THC, opiates, methadone, cocaine, PCP, amphetamines, benzodiazepines, barbiturates, oxycodone, propoxyphene)
  • Immunizations and health documents:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (adult vaccine proof required)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 6 months
    • TB Questionnaire within 30 days of start and annually
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) vaccination or positive titer proof
    • Hepatitis B titer or declination
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (required by 10/20 for working candidates)
  • Fit mask test within current calendar year (N95 approved types) and updated annually
  • Fingerprinting required only for Home Health and Long-Term Care positions (not applicable here)

Additional Requirements

  • 2 supervisory references required from clinical assignments within the last 24 months (at least one within 12 months)
  • Employment application/resume with 7-year work history
  • Verification of all employment within last 5 years through third-party vendor
  • Annual skills checklist with a one-week grace period for renewal
  • Candidate must be flexible with scheduling and aware of zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences
  • Candidate must review and sign floating policy and contractor equipment acknowledgement form
  • Badge photo must meet strict facility requirements (no selfies, solid color background, business casual or uniform attire, forward-facing)

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide specialized nursing care in an inpatient rehabilitation setting
  • Manage patients with neurological and rehabilitative needs
  • Perform clinical tasks including vital signs, medication reconciliation, specimen collection, dressing changes, and telephone triage
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support patient recovery
  • Adhere to facility policies and procedures, including floating as needed

This position is ideal for experienced Registered Nurses with prior travel contract experience seeking a night shift role in a specialized inpatient rehabilitation setting.
