Registered Nurse – LTAC ICU

Location: Leominster, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
Hours per Week: 36

Job Description

• Must have Massachusetts RN license in hand.
• Required experience with ventilator and tracheostomy care, including central line management and telemetry monitoring capability.
• Critical Care Unit (CCU) experience or direct ventilator experience in a rehabilitation hospital setting is required.
• May float to inpatient units as needed.
• Every other week (EOW) / every other hour (EOH) scheduling pattern.

Required Qualifications

• Active Massachusetts RN license.
• Ventilator and trach experience including central line management.
• CCU or rehab hospital ventilator experience.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA).
• Medication competency exam required for RNs.
• Telemetry competency exam required for RNs working in telemetry units (including Labor & Delivery).
• Must pass medication and telemetry exams with a minimum score of 80% on the first day of orientation (only one attempt allowed).
• Physical exam within 12 months prior to start, including physician statement of fitness to work without restrictions.
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray per facility requirements.
• Required immunizations or documented declinations (Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap, MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Flu, COVID-19). Declinations not accepted for Pediatrics, Maternity, or NICU areas.
• Drug screening within 30 days of start.
• Background check including 7-year criminal history, education verification, and Massachusetts statewide iCORI clearance within 30 days prior to start.
• NURSYS verification required within 30 days prior to start.
• Two professional references within the last three years.
• Employment application documenting 7 years of employment history with explanations for gaps over 30 days.
• Skills checklist required prior to start and updated annually as applicable.

Preferred Certifications (if applicable)

• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) preferred for ER experience.
• Other specialty certifications may be required depending on unit assignment.

Additional Notes

• Candidates must comply with all facility-specific health and safety requirements, including vaccination and declination policies.
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
• Candidates should be prepared for a fast-paced critical care environment with ventilator-dependent patients.
