Job Summary: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Tracy, California
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Requirements

  • Licenses & Certifications:
    • California RN License (CA RN License)
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or ARC only
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC only
    • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA or ARC only
  • Experience:
    • Specialty: Registered Nurse (no explicit years stated, assume minimum RN experience)
  • Schedule:
    • Every other weekend requirement

Background Checks & Verifications

  • 7-year background check required within 6 months of start, including:
    • SS Trace with all aliases
    • County searches for last 7 years of locations lived/worked/schooled

    • Education verification (highest level achieved, not required if high school)
    • FACIS Level 3 screening within 2 weeks of start and monthly thereafter

Certifications & Competencies

  • Additional certifications may be required depending on position:
    • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) - AHA/AAP only, Instructor or Advanced Provider Course
    • CCRN (Critical Care RN)
    • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - valid for 4 years
    • EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) - typically for Labor & Delivery
    • NIH Stroke Certification (expiration 1-2 years)
    • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute)
    • Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) - may be completed onsite during orientation
  • Competency exams as applicable:
    • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam
    • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (may be required for some units)
    • Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) for ICU RNs at certain locations

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start (must indicate "cleared for work")
  • Fit mask test within 1 year, renewed annually (specific mask types accepted)
  • Immunizations and titers required:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
    • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 90 days, renewed annually
    • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella - positive titers or vaccines required
    • Hepatitis B series or signed declination
    • Varicella - positive titer or vaccines required
    • Seasonal flu vaccination/documentation required during flu season (Nov-April)
  • Drug testing: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana due to CA law)
  • Color blind exam if applicable (in-person exam only)
  • Respiratory safety clearance required prior to start, renewed annually
