Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Tyler, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Specialty: Registered Nurse (MS Ortho)
  • Required Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty
  • First Time Travelers: Not accepted (prior travel experience required)
  • Patient Ratios: 1:6
  • Unit Beds: 36
  • Float Requirement: Must float to units of equal or lesser acuity
  • Weekend Shifts: Half of scheduled shifts

  • NIH Stroke Certification - Preferred

Additional certifications may be required as applicable:

  • PALS, NRP, CHEMO, TNCC, Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB), CPI

Documentation & Compliance Requirements

  • Must have valid RN license with primary source verification
  • NURSYS verification required
  • Background checks including 7-year history, education verification, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG
  • Drug screening (10 panel) within 90 days of start
  • Physical exam within 12 months
  • Fit mask test within 1 year, renewed annually
  • Immunizations and titers required:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or 2 vaccines)
    • Hepatitis B (positive titer, series, or declination)
    • Varicella (positive titer, 2 vaccines, or documented history)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season
  • COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required

Additional Information

  • Local travelers from specified surrounding counties are not accepted
  • Documentation system used: EPIC (Prv EPIC required)
  • Unit specific skills checklist required annually
  • Employment application and work history verification required

Note: Prior travel experience is mandatory; first-time travelers will not be considered for this assignment.
