Registered Nurse (Med/Surg Telemetry) - Travel/Contract

Location: Warrensville Heights, Ohio
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: Night shifts, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (36 or 48 hour option)
• Experience Required: Minimum 18 months recent permanent Med/Surg Telemetry experience
• Licensing: Must have permanent Ohio nursing license or compact state license in hand
• Certifications Required:

  • AHA BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • AHA ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• Holiday Work: Must work at least every other holiday
• Assessments:

  • ECG rhythm recognition test and SafeMedicate test during orientation (passing score required)
• Documentation Submission: Hours worked submitted via Qualivis – Lotus system

Required Credentials & Compliance

Background Checks

• Comprehensive background check prior to assignment start (updated annually and after breaks of 2+ months)
• Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
• FBI and BCI fingerprinting within 12 months of start, updated annually (must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing)
• Facility will conduct additional fingerprinting onsite

Certifications

• ACLS and BLS (AHA Instructor or Provider; RQI acceptable)
• Pass/Fail ECG & Medication testing during orientation (not required for legacy candidates with <6 month gap)
• Annual Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement
• State License verification and NURSYS verification within 30 days of start
• Other certifications (PALS, NRP, TNCC, CHEMO, NIH Stroke, Tech Certs) as applicable/preferred

Health Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start, including Snellen eye exam (required for new candidates signing 4/11/2025 or later)
• Fit mask test (3M N95) within 12 months, updated annually
• Immunizations and titers:

  • Tdap every 10 years
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccinations or positive titers
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or titer
  • Varicella vaccination or titer
• Drug screening: Standard 10-panel within 12 months, updated annually
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (10/31 - 03/31)

Onboarding & Orientation

• Completion of online training modules prior to start (must be done on a computer using Google Chrome; cannot be completed on phone)
• Modules include SafeMedicate prep materials and other facility-specific training
• Modules must be completed for clearance to start; facility will cover cost of 4 hours of module time
• Pass/Fail testing (ECG/Medication) completed onsite during orientation

Employment History & References

• Employment application must include 3 years prior work history with at least 2 years clinical practice in acute care and similar area
• Two professional references required from employment within 1 year of start (manager, supervisor, charge nurse, or director)

Additional Notes

• Candidates must carry a government-issued photo ID while on assignment
• Candidates may start with fingerprinting results pending but must complete fingerprinting prior to start
• Facility accommodates latex allergies with notification
• Religious and medical exemptions for vaccines reviewed on a case-by-case basis; declinations are not accepted
• Candidates with gaps in employment >6 months may have additional onboarding requirements

This position is ideal for experienced Med/Surg Telemetry RNs licensed in Ohio or a compact state, comfortable with night shifts and holiday work, and able to meet comprehensive credentialing and health requirements.
