Job Opportunity: LVN / LPN - Outpatient Cardiology Clinic

Location: Roanoke, Virginia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Overview

• Role: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
• Setting: Outpatient Cardiology Clinic
• Shift: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
• No weekend shifts required
• Floating within skillset may be required
• Serves adult and geriatric patients
• Patients include those newly diagnosed with cardiac disease, post cardiac procedures, and on cardiac maintenance therapy under cardiologist care

Required Experience & Skills

• Specialty: Cardiology outpatient experience with basic cardiology skills
• Core clinical duties: Rooming patients, calling in prescriptions, patient callbacks, completing patient forms
• EPIC charting experience required
• Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required; acceptance of first-time travelers depends on candidate’s experience

Licensure & Certifications

• Must hold an active Virginia State or Compact LPN license
• Pending license accepted only if single-state license from a non-compact state
• Required Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - preferred, AHA only

Required Documentation & Compliance

• I9 or attestation
• Driver’s License/State ID with address within 100 miles of facility
• E-Verify or attestation
• Background check: 7-year history required within 1 year of start; must cover all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
• Education verification of highest earned degree
• State license primary source verification within 30 days of start
• NURSYS verification as applicable
• Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming freedom from communicable diseases
• Fit mask test within 1 year of start, updated annually
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
• Required immunizations or positive titers: Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
• TB questionnaire required for all candidates
• Seasonal flu vaccination or mask and declination form during flu season

• Completion of facility-specific orientation and compliance paperwork prior to start

Notes

• Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
• Return to office (RTO) requests must be approved by facility
• Locals are not accepted for this position
