Job Details

- Weekend Requirement: 2 weekends per 4-week schedule (may vary by unit)
- On-call: Not required
- Guaranteed Hours: Contracted hours (36, 40, or 48 hours per week); facility may call off up to 3 times during a 13-week assignment
- COVID Vaccination: Required (religious and medical exemptions accepted with completed exemption form)
- Pending License: Accepted (NM license can pend at time of submission)
- Local Candidates: Not accepted within 75 miles
- Return to Office Restrictions: Absences greater than 10 days require approval
Required Certifications
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or ARC, RQI not accepted
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC, RQI not accepted
- NIH Stroke Certification
- IV Starts and Telemetry skills required
Additional Certifications (May be Required or Preferred Depending on Unit)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) - Required for NICU, L&D, Mother/Baby units
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring)
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute)
- Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) - Required for Behavioral Health units
- MOAB (Management of Assaultive Behavior) - Required for Behavioral Health units including Pediatrics
- Relias Basic Dysrhythmia Exam (Pass/Fail Testing) - Required for multiple units including Adult and Pediatric ED, PACU, ICU, MS/Tele, Cath Lab, Dialysis, Endoscopy, Labor and Delivery, and others
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement
- State License (New Mexico) - Original license with 3D seal required onsite for Radiology units
- NURSYS Verification (RN, LPN/LVN, AP)
Competency Exams
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (Aya requirement)
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (Relias Basic Dysrhythmia Exam) - Must score 80% overall and 100% on Lethal Arrhythmia section; two attempts allowed
Health and Background Requirements
- Physical Exam within 1 year prior to start
- Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray within 1 year
- Fit Mask test within 1 year (specific mask models required)
- Drug Testing: Negative drug screen within 30 days of start (instant drug screens not accepted)
- Immunizations:
- Rubeola (Measles): 2 vaccines or positive IGG titer
- Mumps: 2 vaccines or positive IGG titer
- Rubella: 2 vaccines or positive IGG titer
- Hepatitis B: Declination, series, or titer required
- Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive IGG titer (history of disease not accepted)
- Flu Vaccine: Required year-round with exemptions accepted via facility-specific form
- COVID Vaccine: No longer required but reporting still necessary
Background Checks and Documentation
- 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start, updated annually
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within one year of start
- Fingerprinting required onsite during orientation (NM Department of Health clearance)
- Education verification or diploma/transcript if 3rd party verification unavailable
- Work History Verification: Minimum 3 years of previous work experience verified
- Two professional references within three years of hire

Work Environment and Other Notes
- Floating to multiple units within skillset is expected
- Hospital operates at over 100% capacity
- No local candidates accepted within 75 miles radius
- Facility uses Cerner for charting
- Parking is free
- Overtime applies after 48 hours on contracts signed on or after 10/30/2025
