Job Opportunity: Radiology / Cardiology (Mammography Tech)

Location: Washington, District of Columbia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Required Qualifications

  • ARRT (R) (M) Certification required
  • Mammography Tech credential on ARRT required
  • State license not required
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a Mammography Tech (highest required experience)
  • Evidence of 200 mammograms performed within the last 24 months
  • Evidence of initial training:
    • 40 hours of mammography-specific training
    • 25 supervised exams
  • Evidence of modality-specific training:
    • 8 hours digital training
    • 8 hours 3D/tomo training
  • Mammography Techs must have 15 mammography-specific CEUs within the last 3 years (CEUs must mention “mammography” or “breast imaging”)

Certifications & Competencies

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) as applicable (AHA)
  • National Certification/Verification within 30 days of start (ARRT verification plus letterhead verification showing initial certification date)
  • Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement (HIPAA required)
  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam as applicable
  • Competency Exam as applicable

Background & Verification Requirements

  • 7-year criminal background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and monthly thereafter
  • Education verification (diploma or transcript acceptable)
  • Fingerprinting (not required for DC, but required for PA placements)
  • Work history verification (last position only)
  • State license verification if applicable (not required here)

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam within last 12 months (physician statement)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year prior to start
  • TB questionnaire required
  • Immunizations or positive titers for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B (series, titer, or declination)
    • Varicella
  • 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
  • Seasonal flu vaccination documentation required during flu season (Sept 1 - Mar 31) for patient-facing and non-clinical roles in patient-accessible locations
  • COVID-19 vaccination not required; medical and religious exemptions accepted

  • Radiation badge will be provided by the facility for radiology techs
  • Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
