Job Opportunity: Surgical Services - CVOR Surgical Tech
Location: Colorado Springs, Colorado
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Position: CVOR Surgical Tech
- Shift: 06:30 AM - 7:00 PM (3x12 hour shifts, various days of the week)
- Experience Required: Minimum 2 years of CVOR experience
- Skills: Must be comfortable scrubbing Endovascular cases
- Call Requirements:
- Call required 1 weekend per month
- Call required 1 weekday each week
- Floating: Yes, may float to main OR within scope as needed
Certifications & Licensure
- Required Certifications:
- BLS (AHA)
- Licensure:
- State license (DORA - Colorado) required
Time Off / Restrictions
- Maximum 10 RTO (Return to Office) days approved
- No RTO allowed during these blackout periods:
- December 21, 2025 – January 3, 2026
- March 14 – March 21, 2026
- May 8 – May 11, 2026
- May 21 – May 27, 2026
- Flexibility may be considered for harder-to-fill positions

Background & Compliance Requirements
- 7-year background check including SSN trace, state and federal checks, education verification
- Drug testing within 30 days of start and annually
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, DO, NP, or PA
- Fit mask test within 12 months of start and annually (specific mask types required)
- Immunizations and titers required:
- TDAP (within 10 years or declination)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) immunity or boosters as needed
- Hepatitis B immunity or vaccination series or declination
- Varicella immunity or vaccination
- Seasonal flu vaccination or facility-specific exemption during flu season
- COVID vaccine proof or signed declination
Competency & Skills Verification
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (updated annually)
- Core competency exams (Parts I, II, III) updated annually
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (updated annually)
- OSHA mandatory training (updated annually)
- Color blind testing: Ishihara exam required prior to start (online testing not accepted)
Documentation & History
- Employment application with 3 years of employment history, including explanations for gaps >30 days
- Work history verification for last 3 years
- Two professional references from the last two years (one from the last year), from Charge RN, Manager, Supervisor, or above
- Skills checklist required annually
Additional Notes
- Candidate must confirm renewal plans for any certifications expiring within 90 days of start
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
