Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Telemetry (Travel/Contract)

Location: Saratoga Springs, New York
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Seeking a Registered Nurse for a Tele Float position with a focus on telemetry patients. The role requires strong rhythm identification skills and the ability to pass a hospital proctored test with high accuracy.

Requirements

• Licenses & Certifications:

  • New York RN License (must have in hand)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • Epic charting experience
  • Successful completion of hospital proctored EKG/ECG test with >80% accuracy in rhythm identification and 100% accuracy on critical rhythms
• Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
  • At least 1 year current experience with telemetry population
  • Critical drip and CVA experience is a plus
• Skills:

  • Telemetry nursing skills required
• Vaccinations:

  • Flu vaccine or approved exemption required
• Patient Ratio:

  • Approximately 1:4-5

Testing & Competencies

• Must pass an advanced EKG/ECG test within 72 hours of contract signing with a minimum score of 90% and 100% on lethal rhythms.
• Up to 3 attempts allowed with remediation and retesting options.
• Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required as applicable.
• Color blindness test preferred.
• NIH Stroke Certification required or assigned during orientation if not on file.
• Child Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training required for all RNs (New York State mandate).

Health & Compliance

• Physical exam within 1 year of start date (onsite physical required with specific forms).
• Negative 2-step PPD or Quantiferon Gold test within 1 year (Tspot not accepted).
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days of start.
• Required immunizations or titers:

  • Measles (Rubeola) - 2 MMR boosters or positive titer
  • Mumps - 2 MMR boosters or positive titer
  • Rubella - 2 MMR boosters or positive titer
  • Varicella - 2 boosters or positive titer
  • Hepatitis B - titer, declination, or vaccine series
• Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption required by December 5th, 2024. Masking required if exempt.
• Eye exam including Ishihara color deficiency test required prior to start.

Additional Information

• Call-off policy: Maximum 3 call-offs per contract.
• Local rule: Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius or outside specified counties around Saratoga Springs.
• Required documentation includes government-issued photo ID, background checks, and facility-specific forms such as lift assessment and badge photo.
• Orientation includes virtual HealthStream modules to be completed before start date.
