Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (ER) - Travel/Contract

Location: Columbus, Georgia
Contract Length: 14 weeks

Job Summary

Seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Room (ER) with experience managing adult to geriatric patients. This is a travel/contract position with floating within the facility and possibly to a sister campus.

Required Experience

• Minimum 1 year of specialty experience in ER nursing (1 year required)
• 1st time travelers accepted
• Prior travel experience not explicitly required

Patient Population

• Adults to Geriatrics

Required Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)

Clinical Skills & Work Setting Requirements

• Experience with dysrhythmias management
• Central line care/management
• IV vasopressors administration
• CPAP/BiPAP management
• Care of ventilated patients
• Triage experience
• Familiarity with Pyxis and Epic systems

Work Schedule & Requirements

• Return to Office (RTO) within 7 days
• Weekend shifts every other weekend
• Floating within facility/scope of practice and possibly to sister campus
• No call requirements
• Holiday work expected if major holidays fall during assignment (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day)

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for Georgia
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications prior to start
• Compliance with all background checks, education verifications, and health screenings prior to start
• Must pass medication, dysrhythmia/EKG, and competency exams as required
• Physical exam within 12 months of start
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days of start
• Required immunizations and/or titers: MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), Varicella, Hepatitis B, TB test or chest X-ray, Flu vaccination or declination
• Annual NURSYS license verification within 30 days prior to start
• Color blindness test required

Orientation & Compliance

• Orientation hours depend on contract length (e.g., 14 weeks = 14 hours orientation)
• Full compliance required to start on time; delays may result in assignment pushback
• Skills checklist and work history verification required (can be pending at start with proof of processing)
• Two clinical references required
