Job Details
- Position: Wound Ostomy RN (Wound Care Specialty)
- Float between units: Yes
- On-call required: No

- Block schedules required: Yes
- Expected patient ratios: 10-12
- Shift options: 8 or 10 hour shifts, weekdays only
- 48-hour shifts: Not approved
- Charting system: Epic
- Scrub color: Any color allowed on all units

Required Qualifications
- License: Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for Washington State
- Specialty Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in Wound Care (defaulted to higher if discrepancies)
- Certification: National Alliance of Wound Care and Ostomy Certification required
- Basic Life Support (BLS): Must have AHA (Instructor, Provider, or RQI) or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS): Must have AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification
- Other certifications may be required based on clinical track (e.g., PALS, NRP, Chemotherapy, EFM) – verify as applicable
- NURSYS Verification: Required for all RNs
- Physical Exam: Within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, indicating ability to work with or without accommodation
- Drug Testing: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (instant tests not accepted)
- Immunizations and Health Requirements:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or declination accepted)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (annual updates required)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Flu vaccine during flu season or declination
- COVID vaccine or declination
- Respiratory Safety Clearance: Required for travel candidates, medically cleared annually for respirator use
- References: Minimum 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within the last 3 years
- Employment Application: Must include at least last 5 years of employment with month/year format and explanation for gaps or overlaps
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of specialty experience in Wound Care
- No explicit prior travel experience required
Additional Requirements
- Must be willing to float between units within the facility or system
- Block scheduling is required
- No weekend or on-call shifts required
- Must complete required facility and system-specific training modules prior to start (including WorkRamp modules and Epic training)
- Must comply with Providence Health and Services background checks and verifications, including:
- Background check within 45 days of start covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
- State-specific searches as required by Washington law
- Education verification
- Must complete Providence’s annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules as assigned
- Must comply with Providence’s float policy acknowledgment
