Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position
Location: Tyler, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (Medical Surgical ICU)
- Shift: Days, 3x12 hour shifts
- Patient Ratio: 1:2
- Float: Yes, to units of equal or lesser acuity
- Weekend Coverage: 6 shifts per 6-week period
- Number of Rooms: 12
- Level I Trauma experience: Preferred
Experience Requirements
- Years of Specialty Experience: 2 years
- Prior Travel Experience: Required
Required Skills & Certifications
- Epic charting experience
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- Other certifications as applicable: PALS, NRP, CHEMO, TNCC, Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB), NIH Stroke Certification, CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute)
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- I9 verification
- Driver’s License/State ID
- E-Verify
- 7-year background check (including SS trace, county searches, nationwide, sex offender, education verification)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
- Education verification (transcript/diploma acceptable if verification pending)
- Fingerprinting (for certain locations)
- State license verification (primary source)
- NURSYS verification
- Photo for badge
- Physical exam within 12 months
- Fit mask test within 1 year (annual renewal required)
- Immunizations and health documents:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (within 1 year)
- TB questionnaire (if positive TB test)
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or 2 vaccines)
- Hepatitis B (positive titer, series, or declination)
- Varicella (positive titer, 2 vaccines, or documented history)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption (required during flu season)
- COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
Additional Notes
- Float assignments are to units with equal or lesser acuity.
- Weekend coverage is required as specified.
- Level I Trauma experience is preferred but not mandatory.
- Candidates residing in certain Texas counties are not eligible for travel contracts with this facility.
- Prior travel experience is explicitly required for this role.
This position is ideal for experienced Registered Nurses with ICU and Epic charting experience who have completed at least one prior travel contract and hold current certifications in ACLS and BLS.
