Job Opportunity: Case Manager Registered Nurse (RN)

Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Role: Case Manager RN
• Patient Ratio: 1:25-30 Adults & Geriatrics
• Schedule: 5 days a week, 8-hour shifts (8:30 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday-Friday) plus one full weekend every 4 weeks
• No call or holiday shifts required
• Responsibilities include completing initial patient assessments and revisiting patients at least every third day

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years recent acute care hospital Case Management experience
• Discharge Planning experience required
• Level 1 Trauma experience preferred
• Experience must be consecutive within the past 24 months in a U.S. hospital setting
• Must have proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, EPIC, CarePort, AllScripts, and Powerchart

Required Qualifications

• Active Florida RN license (Compact license accepted)
• Degree from an accredited school or an institution approved by the Florida Board of Nursing
• Epic experience required

Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA or ARC only
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required depending on unit (confirm with management)
• Other certifications as applicable to the unit or specialty

Prior Travel Experience

• No explicit prior travel experience required

Additional Requirements

• Background check within 6 months including all locations lived/worked/schooled in the past 7 years
• Education verification required for RN license
• Physical exam within 6 months of start, signed by DO, MD, NP, APRN, or PA
• Annual fit mask test (3M 1860 Regular or Small) required
• Negative QuantiFERON TB test within 6 months (TSPOT and PPD not accepted)
• Annual TB questionnaire
• Immunizations or proof of immunity required for:

  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer)
  • Hepatitis B (series, titer, or signed declination)
  • Varicella (2 vaccines, positive titer, or declination)
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months (instant tests not accepted)
• Flu vaccination or declination required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)

Orientation and Training Modules

Candidates must complete the following online modules prior to start:

• Clinical and general orientation modules
• Privacy policy and HIPAA training
• Annual risk management and compliance training
• Recognizing impairment in the workplace
• Various nursing-specific modules including:

  • Handling hazardous drugs
  • Stroke and stroke core measures
  • Safe administration of IV medication
  • End of life care
  • Procedural sedation (adults and pediatrics)
  • Infection control and blood administration
• Additional modules as required by the facility and specialty

Other Notes

• Locals within a 60-mile radius considered
• No call or holiday shifts required
• Must maintain all certifications and health requirements current throughout assignment
