Travel/Contract Registered Nurse (CVPICU) - Omaha, Nebraska

Job Summary

Seeking a Registered Nurse with cardiac ICU and pediatric experience for a travel/contract position in a pediatric cardiac ICU unit.

Contract Length

13 weeks

Required Experience

Minimum 2 years of experience in cardiac ICU and pediatrics
Unit accepts first-time travelers (prior travel experience not required)

Patient Population & Unit Details

Average daily census: 21 patients
Unit beds: 32
Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:2
Patient diagnoses include:
- Post-op open heart surgery
- Single ventricles
- Complex cardiac anatomy/physiology
- Heart transplant
- Heart failure
Special procedures and skills:
- Invasive cardiac monitoring (CVP, arterial lines, RA lines, etc.)
- ECMO and CRRT exposure or experience preferred
- Management of vasopressors, cardiac drips, sedation drips

Required Certifications

ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
BLS (Basic Life Support)
PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)

Required Licensure

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for Nebraska

Required Qualifications & Compliance

Valid RN license in Nebraska
Minimum 2 years of Pediatrics CVICU experience, including experience within the last year
Experience working with pediatric patients in a CVPICU setting
ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
PALS certification issued by the American Heart Association
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
