Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN) - Pediatrics (Nights)
Location: Des Moines, Iowa
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Work 36-40 hours per week; overtime billable after 40 hours
- Patient Types: Pediatric Hematology/Oncology, Medical-Surgical, and all Pediatric specialties
- May float across NICU, B3 general floor, PICU, and Emergency Department (ED) to care for inpatient holds
- Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:2 to 1:4
- Bed size: 14
- Electronic Medical Record system: EPIC
Requirements
Experience
- Minimum 24 months of combined Pediatric and/or Oncology nursing experience
- Pediatric experience within the previous 18 months (required)
- Hematology/Oncology experience (required)
- EPIC EMR experience within the previous 12 months (required)
- Must have completed at least 1 prior travel contract within the previous 18 months (prior travel experience required)
Certifications & Licenses
- Active Iowa RN license or compact/multistate license at time of submission
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from AHA or ARC (required)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification from AHA (required)
- APHON (Association of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Nurses) membership or documentation (required)
Other
- Must be willing to float to the Emergency Department as needed
- Skills checklist specific to Pediatric/Oncology discipline (required)
- Professional references or performance evaluations within the last 24 months preferred
- Valid driver’s license (required)

This position is ideal for experienced Pediatric Hematology/Oncology nurses with recent EPIC experience and prior travel nursing contracts who are comfortable floating across pediatric specialties including critical care areas.
