Job Opportunity: Temporary Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP)

Location: Saint Joseph, Missouri
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Develop treatment plans to improve swallowing, cognitive, and communication abilities, and to decrease aspirations.
  • Create communication treatment plans to help individuals better understand and be understood by others.
  • Lead, guide, and direct the delivery of speech language pathology services in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations and facility policies.
  • Work primarily in a skilled nursing and post-acute rehabilitation setting with a variety of cognitive, dietary, and neurological diagnoses.
  • Serve both short-term rehab patients and long-term care residents.
  • Collaborate closely with nursing, therapy, and medical teams.
  • Dress code: Scrubs

Required Qualifications

  • Valid, unrestricted Missouri SLP license.
  • Minimum 1 year of Speech and Language Pathology experience.
  • Experience in Long Term Care (LTC) or Rehabilitation settings required.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology required.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Knowledge of skilled nursing home regulations, procedures, laws, and guidelines related to long-term care.
