Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) - Temporary Position

Location: St. Louis, Missouri
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Implement components of patient care under the supervision of a Physical Therapist
• Obtain data related to treatments provided and collaborate with the PT to modify care as necessary
• Assist patients with stretching and exercising specific muscle groups
• Work directly with the Physical Therapist to assist patients of all ages, from newborns to end-of-life care
• Communicate with families to recommend best at-home techniques
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the physical therapy area
• Assist patients in moving from wheelchairs or walkers to the therapy area
• Complete administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and filing paperwork
• Teach patients techniques including balance training

Required Qualifications

• Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)
• Minimum 1 year of PTA experience
• Experience in Long Term Care (LTC) or Rehabilitation settings
