Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Room / Med/Surg / Progressive Care / Float (Nights)
Location: Claremont, New Hampshire

Position Summary
Provides professional nursing care within assigned departments, coordinating care planning with other disciplines. Delivers care addressing psychosocial, physical, and general patient needs. Prioritizes care based on patient condition and flow, communicates changes to physicians, and responds promptly to patient status changes.
Essential Functions
- Perform head-to-toe assessments and reassessments for pediatric, geriatric, and general patient populations.
- Assess and manage pain effectively; educate patients and families on pain management.
- Revise and evaluate individualized plans of care daily based on patient response.
- Administer medications safely following the six medication rights.
- Develop and evaluate patient and family teaching plans.
- Assist physicians with procedures and perform technical/manual skills within scope of licensure.
- Monitor cardiac rhythms, identify dysrhythmias, and treat per ACLS protocols.
- Monitor hemodynamic status and interpret results accurately.
- Provide care for patients with compromised nutritional/metabolic status and fluid/electrolyte management needs.
- Communicate clearly with charge nurses, co-workers, and physicians.
- Collaborate with other departments for interdisciplinary patient care.
- Demonstrate flexibility, organization, and ability to function well under stress.
- Willingness to float and work independently in a small, rural facility setting.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in New Hampshire.
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required.
- High proficiency and experience in Emergency Department (ED), Medical/Surgical (MS), and Progressive Care Unit (PCU).
- Must be willing to float and work as a resource nurse across units, including transfers and admissions.
- Rural or small facility experience highly preferred.
- Current ACLS certification required.
- PALS or ENPC certification required within 6 months of hire.
- COVID-19 vaccination required.
Additional Information
- This is a float position requiring flexibility to work across multiple units as needed.
- Must be able to work independently and "hit the ground running."
- Dress code: Personal scrubs of any color.
- Required documentation includes work history, skills checklist, supervisory reference within past 2 years, and uploaded licenses/certifications (ACLS and BLS).
